All teams are currently preparing their participation at the 24 hours iLumen European Solar Challenge. During the next weeks, each team will be presented on the iESC website. Today we present you the Kratos Team from Colombia.
“In a nutshell: we are the Kratos Team from Medellín-Colombia and we represent strength, power and future”, explains Carlos Andrés Urrego Villegas, Technical Director of the team.
“This is a team, a family composed by more than 50 undergraduate students from a wide variety of programs. They are divided in technical and non-technical subsystems, but we all share the same ultimate goal: we will develop the best version out of ourselves by facing demanding challenges.”
“We are hard workers, we are team workers, we want to learn more every time and we enjoy this process. The sky is not our limit because WE ARE KRATOS.”
“For the iESC 2018, Kratos I was amazing, but Kratos II is being born to take us even further. Two years ago, we learnt a lot of things that have shaped the future of this car and our mindset.”
“This year we are taking our dreams to Circuit Zolder in a 5m x 1.8m x 1.4m vehicle. It has 4 wheels, 4 seats, and 1.300 energy cells that carry the spirit of our team, our university, our sponsors, our city and our country.”
“This will be our second time at Circuit Zolder. Two years ago at the iESC 2018 we realized the fastest lap, we finished first in the regularity test, second in the presentation and third in the KO chicane test. Now, we are facing a different challenge, our goal is now to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic situation and step up on the podium.”
“Everybody should come to Circuit Zolder to watch the race. We put a lot of effort in this project, we built an innovative and competitive car that is tested in a challenge. This way, people will see how the hard work of years is paying off and witness it can only be described as MAGIC.”
“Additionally, this challenge means a lot to us and allows us to learn in a unique manner, to develop multidisciplinary skills and to meet new friends of different countries; in other words, to meet the world and learn from it. “
