After one day of racing, the Belgian Solar Team is on the fifth place in the World Solar Challenge. Professional racing driver Bert Longin covered a distance of 622 km. Last Saturday, the Punch Powertrain Solar Team qualified on the fourth place. On the first racing day, the Belgian team climbed to the second place. But suddenly, they lost some time. “I’m not sure what exactly happend”, Bert Longin explains to VRT. “But suddenly something came in the right wheel which resulted in a flat tire.” Changing the tire only lasted ten minutes, but the Punch Powertrain lost some places and is now fifth. The Dutch Solar Team of Twente is currently leading the race.
